Aminah Ameen is a recent mentee and current ambassador for 1MM. She’s 18 and lives in Oldham, Greater Manchester. She’s currently a first-year BSc Physiotherapy student at MMU. Alongside studying, she’s also volunteering and developing her art as a side skill. Mentoring helped her become more reflective and think more deeply about decisions and goals, rather than only taking advice from one direction. As well as teaching her so many valuable life skills – time management, organisation, networking, and more – the confidence it has given her to do things she never thought she could, and to overcome imposter syndrome, has been amazing. Overall, it has made her realise how important it is to provide others in a similar position with the same kind of support.
