Mentoring Information

We all face times in our lives when we’re trying to make big decisions, and times when things just feel like they are getting on top of us.

Times when we’re trying to figure out what kind of life we want for ourselves and what gives us the best chance of making it happen.

· Thinking about what we want to do after we’re 16… continue with full-time education (stay at school or go to sixth form/FE/technical college), start an apprenticeship, work/volunteer alongside part-time education or training?

· Trying to decide ‘what next’ once we turn 18… apply for a full or part-time undergraduate degree or higher technical qualification course, take a gap year working or volunteering to develop yourself/your skills, start a full-time job, apprenticeship, internship, or training?

At times like this, it’s normal to...

  • feel overwhelmed and find it hard to think ahead
  • be unsure about who we are, what we’re good at, where we fit best…
  • worry how we compare to others instead of focusing on our own positives
  • need encouragement and practical support from others to move forwards

Mentoring isn't just for more 'academic' students, or 'high-flyers'... it's for everyone willing to think and talk about the future that is right for them and take action to make it happen. Successful people have mentors... why shouldn’t you?!
