Youth Partners
The effects of the disruption from the Covid-19 pandemic on young people aged 14–25 are still rippling out and cannot be ignored. A whole generation was impacted by the need to overcome educational setbacks, diminished social connections and increased mental health issues.
Now they are facing a raft of other worries: a much more challenging job market, the rising cost of living, housing insecurity…
It’s a tough time to be young.
Too often, we see reports highlighting:
- Apparently worsening attitudes, increased absenteeism and falling attainment.
- A widening gap between disadvantaged young people and their more affluent peers.
- Funding constraints and staff shortages impacting provision for those most in need.
Every young person deserves fair access to quality education and entry into sustainable, satisfying employment.
1MM Mentoring…
- Offers a positive relationship with a trained and trusted adult to improve academic and non-academic outcomes
- Develops self-belief and motivation, a ‘reason’ to persevere through challenges
- Provides positive role models who can inspire and guide students, especially those who may lack access to such figures in their own communities
- Helps students develop essential skills, access resources and opportunities, and navigate the complexities of finding sustainable, satisfying employment
One Million Mentors helps us create meaningful pathways for young people. By working together, we can build, learn, and connect. Mentoring builds trusting relationships free from assumptions or judgment, giving young people the chance to think bigger, discover their own solutions, and take real steps towards their future. We’re excited to be part of this journey!
