1MM’s 5th Anniversary – Oh What a Night! 👏🏾

🎶 Oh, what a night,
Mid December Thursday evening,

Very special for 1-M-M’s team,
As we remember, what a night. 🎵

This was nothing short of incredible, brilliant, fantastic, amazing, inspirational! Celebrating 5 years with stories from mentors, coordinators, businesses, and most importantly, mentees.

Here are 5 key successes that we’re particularly proud of.

1️⃣ 📈 Expansion
A vision, an idea, piloted, refined, scaled, stalled (by a global pandemic), adapted, evolved, survived, thrived, and now taking off. We are in Greater Manchester, East London, Cardiff Capital Region, and the West Midlands. AND exciting talks in elsewhere… including Scotland!

2️⃣ 💻 Tech
The 1MM Platform ensures a quality user experience, with online training, matching of mentors & mentees, and a connection space. We started with a mentor dashboard, then rolled out the same for mentees, and youth partners, and this week unveiled an employer dashboard for 2023 – track the impact your employees have on local communities. It just gets better!

3️⃣ 🥊 Impact
To-date, we’re approaching 4,000(!) young people connected to a mentor, with programmes across 100 youth partners, and trained mentors from over 100 different employers. Empowerment, Social Connectedness, and Wellbeing, ALL see notable improvements after mentoring.

4️⃣ 🤝 Partnerships
We cannot reach one million alone and are proud of our ability to bring local funders, local employers, public and private sectors, youth institutions and local communities together to mobilise, and provide effective mentoring at scale for young people across the UK.

5️⃣ 🏋🏽 People
The 1MM Team. We’re a small but mighty team, committed to meeting the unprecedented demand from young people. We are grateful to our past and present team, and everyone in the community believing in 1MM; thousands of mentors, businesses, mentoring coordinators, and more.
