Hello 1MM Community! Our regular followers may recall that at 1MM’s 5th Anniversary, it was the young mentees who captured everyone’s imagination with their experiences with how mentoring has helped them so far.

As a reminder, Oreoluwa and Pakeeza are were those young people and being mentored at Bishop Challoner Catholic Federation of Schools as part of 1MM’s work in East London, partnered with the Mayor of London‘s New Deal for Young People.

If you don’t ask, you don’t get… They asked, and they got. 🙂

Not only did these young ladies show up with an impressive air of confidence, their first time at the House of Commons and surrounded by entrepreneurs, senior executives, politicians and other renowned individuals, but they also took their chance and asked MP and 1MM Co-Founder Rushanara Ali, if they could shadow her for a day! (The answer was yes).

👧🏿 “Going to parliament and shadowing MP Rushanara for the day was an amazing experience. I got to watch her speak in a recorded conference and sat in with her during parliamentary meetings. Overall It taught me a lot and I am extremely grateful to 1MM and Rushanara for this opportunity.” – O.
